Child Safety Standards
Contents
Meydan operates a zero-tolerance policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page explains our child safety standards for the Meydan mobile app, the https://app.meydanly.com web app and meydanly.com: prohibited content and behaviour, how to report it and what we do after a report.
1. Meydan is for adults only
- The Service is only available to people aged 18 or over. Declaring your date of birth is mandatory; accounts created with a phone number or with Google/Apple cannot use any feature of the Service until a date of birth is declared.
- We close accounts that we find, or are told, belong to someone under 18.
2. Prohibited content and behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited everywhere on Meydan (profiles, photos, messages, live rooms, game chat, posts, comments, stories, communities):
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, audio, text or drawing depicting a minor in a sexual or obscene way; sharing, requesting, selling or linking to such material.
- Sexual conversations or voice/video contact with a minor or with someone who says they are a minor.
- Grooming: building a child's trust in order to abuse them; asking about their age, school or family and moving them to other platforms, asking for photos or videos, asking them to keep secrets ("don't tell anyone"), offering gifts or money, arranging to meet.
- Sexualising children; content praising or normalising child abuse; sexual extortion (sextortion); child trafficking.
- Helping minors use the Service.
3. How to report
- In the app: Use "Report" on a profile, message, live room, game table, post, comment or story and choose the top category, "Child sexual abuse / sexual content involving a minor". These reports are flagged as urgent and reviewed first. Your identity is never shown to the person you report.
- By email: Write to support@meydanly.com. Please do not re-share, download or send screenshots of the content; the username, where the content is and when it appeared are enough.
- In an emergency: If a child is in immediate danger, first call 112 (or your local emergency number).
- You can also report directly to the authorities: in Türkiye BTK İhbar Web (https://www.ihbarweb.org.tr), the Cyber Crime units of the Turkish National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Offices; in other countries your national hotline or law enforcement (for example NCMEC CyberTipline or an INHOPE member hotline).
4. What we do
- Prevention: Text passes banned-word and automated moderation checks; images are scanned on the device for inappropriate content before upload. Messages in one-to-one, room and game chats are automatically checked on our servers for patterns of abuse aimed at minors (asking about age or school, moving to other platforms, asking for photos, asking for secrecy); suspicious conversations are escalated to our moderation team.
- Content removal: Content reported for child safety is hidden immediately and reviewed; content found to break these standards is permanently removed.
- Account restriction and closure: An account reported by more than one person within a short time, or by a verified (blue tick) user, is suspended until the review is complete. Accounts found to break these standards are permanently closed.
- Evidence preservation: The content and context of a violation (messages, images, timestamps, device and IP records, account details) are kept in a separate restricted record for 2 years, even if the account is deleted. Only authorised administrators can access this record and every access is logged.
- Reporting to authorities: When we identify child abuse material or attempted abuse, we report it to the competent authorities under applicable law (in Türkiye BTK İhbar Web, the police and the Public Prosecutor's Office; relevant international organisations where appropriate) and share evidence upon lawful request.
- Trained team: Child safety reports are handled first by our moderation team; staff access is limited by permission and logged.
5. Legal compliance
Meydan complies with Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 (sexual abuse of children and obscenity), Law No. 5651 on the Regulation of Internet Publications, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and the child protection laws of the countries where it operates, as well as Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and the App Store guidelines.
