What is Meydan?

Meydan is a social meeting platform built around live audio chat rooms, language practice, meeting people nearby, shared plans and communities. Our goal is to turn screen time into real conversations and real meetups.

You can use Meydan through the iOS and Android apps or in your browser at https://app.meydanly.com. The service is intended for users aged 18 and over.

What can you do on Meydan?

  • Live audio chat rooms: Start a topic or join an ongoing conversation; listen in, or raise your hand to become a speaker. Rooms support audio and video participation, room chat and live reactions. Conversations are not recorded.
  • Language practice: Add the languages you speak and learn to your profile, practise in language rooms and one-to-one chats, and translate messages with a single tap.
  • People nearby: If you choose to share your location, you can discover people near you. Others never see your exact location, only an approximate distance (for instance 1–3 km) or your city.
  • Plans: Create or join activities such as coffee, a walk, a match or a language meetup, and keep in touch with participants in the plan chat.
  • Communities: Join communities around your interests, share posts and meet in community rooms.
  • Games: Play chess, backgammon, Werewolf, Spy Hunt and Code Words with friends, and earn Meydan points and badges.
  • Posts and stories: Share your moments; stories disappear automatically after 24 hours.
  • Fitness, businesses and coaching: Track step and activity goals with friends, and discover local businesses and verified coaches.

To bring people together around shared interests and real conversations, and to offer a respectful and inclusive meeting place where everyone feels safe.

Safety and moderation

Safety is a core part of Meydan:

  • The service is open only to users aged 18 and over.
  • You can report any profile, message, post, room or plan from within the app, and block anyone you do not want to hear from. People you block cannot contact you.
  • Reports are reviewed by our moderation team; content that breaks the community rules is removed, and accounts are restricted or closed. Accounts reported by many different people within a short time are automatically suspended for a limited period.
  • Text content may be screened by automated safety tools, and images are checked on your device for inappropriate content before they are shared.
  • Profile verification (selfie) and professional verification give you additional assurance about the people you meet.
  • With the "Are you safe?" check for plans, a trusted contact you choose is notified if you do not respond.

Our approach to privacy

We do not sell your personal data. Others only see an approximate distance instead of your location, live rooms and calls are not recorded, you can download a copy of your data from Settings and you can delete your account at any time. For details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
